A Whole Year Has Passed......What's New?

Greetings in the The Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. How have you all been doing this past year. I am sure many changes have taken place for you and for us at Good News Ministries. Which is good in some ways, yet sad to see in other ways. We still minister to a few truck drivers and still are in contact with a few others. They have continued the ministry by giving out their own CD's and tracts....so the ministry still goes out, but in different directions. Jesus is still preached in the highways and byways by those who have been touched through this ministry in some way. One thing satan can not do, is stop what God has started. What God starts no man can end. We still continue on like an old work horse, plodding along and getting the fields plowed. Race horses come and go but never reach the finished line, they have pooped out before the race is won. So like the old work horse, we still pass out a few CD's, Bibles and tracts at the Forest Junction truck stop. The pastor (who is a truck driver) at the church we go to, passes out CD's and tracts and ministers to many people on the road and off the road. JP meets up with him on Saturday's, to clean the church and practice on the piano and accordion. Then they go for a hamburger and fries. We did get a donation of $50 at the end of the year and were able to get 42 King James Version Bibles. Someone was leaving Bibles at the same truck stop, leaving them on the stand when we had no Bibles to give. God's perfect timing, I would say.

Well, as you can see, the word still goes out and God is still working in the little hamelets of Forest Junction. We work with what we have. I am sure the Deciples did not have a lot to work with but they still went out and preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified and many souls were touched and saved. God can do more in a few seconds then we can in a life time. That is something to remember, it's not us that are doing the work....it's God through us that the work gets done. Keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh, JP and Louise

Not A Lot of Activity in GNM

Hi Folks.........
Well, as you can see, there has not been a lot of activity in these parts lately. Good News Ministries is till alive and well, but not working as hard as it used to. Guess God put us on the shelf for awhile for a little rest.

We did get a case of bibles a month or so ago from a donor and those (donations) are few and far inbetween also. We can only work with what we have and sometimes that ain't much!!!

Bibles and tracts have gone out here and there. A few CD's are passed out also. The pastor, who is a truck driver does a lot of witnessing on the road and uses the "Buddy Ferris"  CD on his travels. We still have a spool of "already made" CD's by Buddy, "I Set Before You...Life". So the Pastor will be provided with enough for a couple of months at least. (I just have to find some time to write the title and author on the CD and stuff them in their envelopes, stamping them with "FREE" and the GNM address).

We have been down to one car for a year now, so traveling down to Osh Kosh has been out of the question for us. Gas prices are rising and with no donations it is hard to get down there. The only truck stop we hit is the one in Forest Junction. That one gets stocked with CD's, tracts and a Bible once a week after church. During the week, if stock is low, the Pastor calls us to let us know. JP usually goes to the church on Saturday's to clean and will stock the shelves then. He also practices his accordion and piano and plays during prayer and greeting during church.

So, there you have it, Good News Ministires is still alive and well, but just doing things differently. Still acting and serving the Lord with what tools we have. They may not be sharp, but they work. Still plowing the fields and sowing seeds and believing God will water the seeds. The sun will shine and the seeds will grow in God's timing and not our own.

You all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh.

Nothing New Under The Sun

Nothing new happening. We still do the truck stop in Forest Junction. But we have not been able to go to the OshKosh truck stop in over a year. We were offered a Van to use to drive down there and stock the shelf with cd's, tracts and a few Bibles. But there has not been any donations coming in for money to buy gas, to get down there. Can't very well use someone's van and not put gas in it when we are finished.........soooooo needless to say, we have not gone down to OshKosh. We are also down to one car, the other car died February 1st.

We no longer have a PO box. That went up to $38, again no donations to keep up. We have wondered if God was shutting down this ministry, but maybe it is just taking a different direction. Which direction, we are not sure of.

As for our cell phone, we may be shutting that down also, as it is costing too much for up-keep also. We ran into a problem with Sprint and are not happy with their business. We paid a bill with a GNM check and they said it was not paid..........we cannot afford to pay that bill again through GNM. So we will have to take care of it personally. As soon as this bill is paid off, we are cancelling Sprint. So there again....is that another sign that GNM is taking a different direction???? We will be getting another cell phone.........a Track phone where you buy your own minutes at your own pace, see how that works for us.

The truckers that call us usually use our land-line, so there should not be a problem with communication. Well so much for our tail of woes........for what ever reason, we still know that God is in controll even though it does not look like it.

You all take care and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh.

Cheers, Louise

It Has Been Awhile

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you Irish lads and lasses!!! Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather God has blessed us all with today. Could not be any better, sunny and in the 70's!!!

Ministry wise there has not been much going on. It's been a long winter and not so snowy as the last couple of years, but tolerable. We have not gone down to the Plainview truck stop for a couple of years now as our cars are one by one dying on us. The car we drive now just stays in the Appleton area as it needs $1000 worth of work. So our hands have been tied, literally.

Our only truck stop that we tend to is the one in Forest Junction. Still putting out bibles, tracts and CD's. JP still talks to a few truckers on a weekly basis, but not as much. Our Pastor is a truck driver, so JP talks to him every other day or so. So Good News Ministries is still alive and well, but very so quietly doing the work behind the scenes.

You all have a great day in the Lord and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh!

Greetings in 2012

Choice Christian greetings to you all in this New Year 2012. Hope things are well with you and your families.

Good News Ministries is still ministering in the small and obsolite places. Guess that is good. One donation came in towards the end of 2011. $200. We were able to buy a case of KJV Bibles, some tracts and pay the cell phone bill and tithe. Here are a few pictures of the tracts.

When JP first started passing out tracts, calendars were the main tool. Every person he handed a calendar to were open to receiving them. He had no problem dispersing them, everyone needed a calendar...........hard to know how many lives were touched by that simple calendar.

The above picture shows the calendar and a Santa Claus tract, ready for use next Christmas to pass out.
The above tract says, Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation! For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ." John 6:35, 11:26 Heb.2:3, 2 Cor. 5:10. Some pretty powerful scriptures that will cause a person to think, where will they spend eternity?

A few truck drivers still call every now and then to talk to JP. A local truck driver calls every other day about. Which is one reason why we still hold on to our "dinosoar cell phone." So you see, Good News Ministries is still plodding along, never swaying to the right or the left like an old work horse. Getting the job done and plowing up the fields and planting seeds. God will water the ground and seeds when the rain is needed. The plants will grow, we may never see the growth, but God sees it all and that is all that counts. Better HE sees the growth and not us.....our helmets may not fit our heads.....lol!

Time to close this blog, I will try to do at least one or two blogs a month, Lord willing. You have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh.

September Newsletter

"Life is hard but God is Good!!!" Just heard that song last night. All the words were my exact feelings on everything. Shall have to find it.http://youtu.be/FXsDfZUgyd4 Here it is, go take a listen.

So what has been going on with Good News Ministries you might ask? MMMMMMM good question. We are only at one truck stop now. Both our cars are disabled in many ways, too many things wrong with them to take them out of town. Plus gas is a problem and I guess the ecconomy has disabled alot of donors also. So Good News sits waiting for God's leading, of which we do not know where he is leading. Life is Hard but God is Good!

JP goes out on Saturdays to the church instead of truck stops and does cleaning and landscaping. Then the pastor (who is a truck driver himself) takes JP out for a hamberger and puts gas in the car for him to get to church. don't know who is getting blessed, JP or Ron.

We still put out tracts and CD's but not as many as we used to. We were able to buy a case of Bibles with a donation, but the bibles are almost gone. That's a good thing.....right?

Mark, Shane and Joshua, all truck drivers still call JP every now and then to gab. Mark just got married and hauls sod in TX. Joshua moved from TX to KY, his wife is doing much better. Shane lives in ME and travels cross country every month. I see Shane on Facebook so I can keep up with him. I guess we are still doing truck ministry, but not in the same ways we used to. Good News Ministries has taken wings and is flying in a different direction.

Onward and upward......Life is hard, but God is Good!!!
Here, there or in the air!

March Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

Good News Ministries, Inc was founded 16 years ago. We've gone to lots of truck stops, gave out lots of tracts, tapes, cd's and bibles (much to numerous to count). We've seen alot of truckers saved and many not so saved. We've traveled alot of miles and seen alot of faces but the best part is knowing we were doing it for the Lord Jesus, serving Him the best we could with what we had to work with.

That hasen't changed, although the finances are just not there anymore, not since November has there been a donation. We are still working with what we have, although MAN says it is over, God has not given up on us or the truck driver. God still wants that all be saved and that includes the truck driver and his family. Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentence" (God will not change his mind about the calling)

We have not given up, nor have we stopped doing truck ministry. GNM has just taken another turn into unfamiliar territory, so we keep on keeping on, doing what we have been doing. Putting our hands to the plow and not turning back, looking forward, never straying to the right or to the left, but keeping our eyes fully on Jesus Christ and the finish line.

There are alot of truck ministries out on the road today, and many of the truckers have picked up the cd's from us or from others and duplicated them and are passing them out themselves. What better ministry is that, then to have a trucker ministering to another trucker??? Like a cowboy to cowboy or football player to a football player or poor person to a poor person or actor to actor....whatever the case. People listen to those who are like minded and understand where that person is coming from.

So the truck ministry still continues whether you desire it to continue or not.......it will continue because God is in it and God disires that ALL BE SAVED!!!!!

So ends my little "soapbox preach".........hope you all have a great day and remember when you see a truck driver, they have a soul too, and that soul is going to spend eternity someplace, whether it be heaven or hell. So have compassion for them........Jesus does.

♥Happy Valentine's Day♥

Today is Valentine's Day♥ In the 30's and sunny. We celebrated our Valentine's yesterday with a heart shaped steak on the grill, potatoes, broc/mushrooms and roasted onions and red peppers. Oh Yum!!!
Nothing new on the home front............we are still waiting on God for our next step in Good News Ministries. There has not been a donation to this ministry since November. That being said, we just sit and wait till something comes in. There are still the bills that need to be paid, cell phone and PO Box. We got some tracts and spanish bibles for free, so that helps. Still have some CD's to pass out, but since we cannot get down to Oshkosh as much (car won't make it and gas too expensive) our CD stock is still okay. So anything that is needed for this ministry comes out of our pocket.......or General Funds.
We still pray for the truckers on the road, for their jobs can be very trying as is anyone's job at times. Our pastor drives truck every day down to Waterloo and with this winter weather, it sure has not been a picnic. God bless the trucker for all their hard work, a thankless job I am sure.
We shall close this blog for today with hopes of something transpiring in the next few months.
Blessings, JP and Louise

Happy New Year - 2011!!!!

It has been quite a long while since we last posted in this blog. GNM is still chugging along at a VERY slow pace. As, "no ministry can run on fumes", we have found it very hard to continue the same way we were. There have been a few donations, but not many. Just enough to keep the PO box open, the cell phone going for the few truck drivers that do call, get some bibles and now the checking account, as they are wanting more money to keep it open.

Ministry-wise. 2010 has been a very bad year for donations. We still get a few bibles, tracts, and cd's out at Forest Junction every week. We have not made it to the Planeview truck stop probably since the first of September. Transportation down there has been nill as the '94 Century has many things wrong with it and is not safe to go out on the highways. Plus the ministry needs gas to get to these truck stops and that is not happening.

We still pass out tracts here and there, so all is not lost. Hopefully the new year will bring new areas of ministry.......only God knows that, we just have to find His will for this ministry, but maybe 2011 will bring that light at the end of the tunnel..........we can always hope!!!!

Until then see you next year ~JP and Louise~

A New Blog Facelift for Good News Ministries

We gave this blog a new facelift, JP likes blue because in the old testement blue was to remind the people of the commandments........so blue it is.

Here are a few pictures of the Planeview Truck Stop in OshKosh. These were taken a couple of months ago, when Louise went on truck ministry with JP. May 1st as a matter of fact, we went to the Annual African Violet Society Sale and then on to the Planeview Truck Stop.

JP is not allowed to go up to the truck or driver in the lot. But he can put out tracts, Bibles, and CD's in the drivers lounge. If he had a truck, there would be not problem with him going into the truck lot.
We are still putting out the From Mafia to Ministry CD's along with An Ex-Con's True Story, Buddy Farris and a few others which seem to be popular. We have also put out Romans, and John 1-10 and Psalms 117.
Another part of this ministry is to the Latinos. For them, JP gives "El Camino A Dios" one~on~one to the Mexican/Spanish people which are very open to receiving free CD's. I've not seen a CD or Bible be rejected or even heard JP say the spanish CD's and Bibles were rejected......so that is a good thing.
So you see, Good News Ministries, Inc. is still going strong. Finances are not going strong though, we can only go as far as the finances stretch and for now that is just to Osh Kosh and occasionally to Green Bay, which was the case this past Saturday. There were ALOT of detours and it took extra gas to get there and back. So that will be a once every couple of months trip.
If you would like to donate to this ministry you can send your donation to Good News Ministries, PO Box 2542, Appleton, WI 54912. You will receive a tax deductable receipt as we are a 501c3.
Well, you have a great day ~ "Go ye into the Highways and Hedges and compel them to come in"

~~~Still Working for the Lord~~~
It's been 10 months since Good News Ministries posted on this blog........where does the time go anyways???? We must be having a great time as the time is flying by leaps and bounds....getting closer to hearing the sound of that trumpet everyday. Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
Good News Ministries is still flourishing (if that is the right word for it) although the donations aren't. We still go to the Planeview Truck Stop on Saturdays with the help of Dave who gives $6 for that trip every week.
We did take a break for the month of February, well needed, although we did not go anywhere special and did still send bibles, CD's and tracts to a truck stop in Peshtigo. Every week a little truck stop in Forest Junction receives Bibles, CD's, tapes and tracts on our trips to Church at Mark 15:16 Ministries.
We still minister to 4-5 truck drivers weekly on our cell phone. Either they call or we call, a little refreshing for all concerned. Their calls will come from across the county and is always interesting to hear where they coming and going. Sometimes they ask for CD's and tracts to pass out on their travels across the country. The word of God getting into the highways and hedges of America. Only God can do the work, we are only his vessels. So we just keep on keeping on, no reason to quit.....Go ye out into all the world and PREACH the GOSPEL.
So as you can see, we are still getting the word out, not as much as we would like, for we can only do what we can do with what we have and are allowed to do with what donations that come in.
If you would like to donate to this ministry, it would be welcome. You can send your donation to: Good News Ministries - PO Box 2542 - Appleton, WI 54912
Thank you and have a great day in the Lord,
Newsy Letter for June
Greetings,
Hope You all are doing good...
We're keepin' on keepin' on for Jesus. Going to the truck stops week after week as God's circut riders!
Luke 14:23 says "and the Lord said unto the servant, Go out unto the HIGHWAYS AND HEDGES, AND COMPEL THEM TO COME IN, THAT MY HOUSE MAY BE FILLED."
Thanks to your help we have been able to carry out the GREAT COMMISSION so far.
You will be blessed...Now, he who plants and he who waters are one: and every man shall receive his own REWARD according to his own labors. 1 Cor. 3:8
  1. BIBLES - Will you provide a brand new complete Bible to a driver for just $4? Thats 24 Bibles for 24 drivers for just $96...We'd like to put Bibles in the Drivers Lounges every Week.
  2. SPANISH SALVATION CD'S - We want to produce a spanish salvation CD Master - production cost is $25 from Kingdom Tape... 100 CD Blanks and cases will cost about $45.
  3. GAS to go to the truck stops. Round trip to all the truck stops would be about $100 a month.
Well, as you can see it is never ending. To carry on a ministry $$$ is needed. We can go through a case of bibles in a couple of weeks. CD's 6-10 in every truck stop which keeps the secretary busy making cds late into the night on Friday's so the circuit riders can go out on Saturdays.
Today, JP and Dave were only able to go to OshKosh to the Plainview as there was only $5 in the ministry checkbook and then Dave gave a $3 donation. When they were down there the truckers were watching TV and the newsman said that gas prices were expected to go up to $4 by summers end. Not good news for those who travel across these states in trucks transporting our food and clothes to us along with other needs to sustain us daily.
YOU all have a blessed day and keep your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
JP and Louise
What's Happening at GNM?
Nothing.............No money...........No ministry.
Perhaps our next posting will be more newsy. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come. Well, we will keep plugging along and work with what we have. God always comes through at the mid-night hour.
You all have a great day and keep on smiling. Not going to worry about the future, cause God is still on HIS throne!
A New Year!
Following is our newletter for January 2009♥
Greetings in Jesus...Hope this finds you all doing well and ready for another good year should the Lord tarry.
A BIG THANK YOU to Faith Community Church in Waupaca for hosting Good News Ministries and especially to the "740 Men's Ministry" for breakfast and being able to give my testimony and tell about God's truck ministry based in Appleton, WI.
January 10th was a Hallelujah Day as we explained how we are able to pass out hundreds of Bibles and CD's. There was a genuine concern by the men and a generous offering was received. PTL! The case of Bibles ordered with monies from Waupaca just came today!!!
We are in the process of sending out more requests to Christian Foundations to receive monies to purchase up to 10 cases (240) Gift and Award Bibles, CD's and cases for duplication of various testimonies and music CD's, Bible studies, office supplies, postage and $$$ for gas to run the circuit of 5 truck stops covering 250 miles. One major expense is the car, that is needing constant repairs to keep going. Good News Ministries has worn out 4 used cars including this one! (See below) A 4-door '94 Century which we paid $750.00 2 years ago. We would like to get a van or larger car that gets GOOD gas mileage and is in good condition, as we can then take more people to church and carry more things to pass out when we have opportunity.
We also send Bibles, CD's and tracts to Peshtigo truck stop, plus a few other distributors and truckers in different parts of the country.
As we mentioned in our last newsletter the cell phone has been another avenue we use to minister to truckers on the road. Mark, Shane, Joshua and pastor Ron will either call or JP will call on his "free minutes" to minister to them, but usually they end up ministering to JP. The cell phone runs about $33.45 per month, a good investment.
A FEW TESTIMONIES........
1. Last week we put 4 Bibles in the Oshkosh, Planeview drivers lounge, went out to the car for CD's and by the time we got back to the drivers lounge a driver had already taken the plastic off and opened a Bible and was reading it. PTL!
2. A driver picked up a music CD and Buddy Farris CD at a truck stop in Green Bay, called wanting 12 of each CD to pass out as he drives cross country. He stopped by to pick them up and we were able to give him a few more CD's.
3. 100+ people have been led to the Lord Jesus since this ministry began 13 years ago.
We still constantly deal with rejection but the rejections are less and less as JP is finding more drivers are open to the Word and taking the Bibles, CD's and tracts. Never underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit, HE works in places we cannot see.
Please visit our blogspot, you will get a feel for what this ministry is all about, and would not be, had it not been for Jesus. so do visit and please leave a comment. Go to: http://www.goodnewsministriesinc.blogspot.com/
Thanks for your prayers and support and blessings to you all,
JP and Louise
A blessing for you ~ Please read Luke 14:23
How to get to Heaven according to the BIBLE!
The Good News is that getting to Heaven is a FREE Gift from God...
It is as simple as A-B-C...
A- Admit you're a sinner
For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23
B- Believe Jesus Christ died for your sins
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever
believes in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life. John 3:16
C- Confess with your mouth
That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Pray a little prayer from the heart something like this:
Heavenly Father I admit I'm a sinner, I believe, Jesus died for my sins,
and died on the cross for me, and rose the third day and is seated at the
right hand of God in heaven.
IN JESUS NAME. Amen
Good News Ministries
Good News Ministries began 12 years ago. JP had a vision and a goal to minister to truck drivers on the road. As he was a truck driver also, there was a special kinship to the trucker.
Over the years this ministry has changed and grown in different ways and many people have helped in many different ways and needs. Today JP ministers a lot on the cell phone and going to about 3-7 truck stops every month depending of the availablity of gas which seems to go up in a heartbeat. Desiel fuel now sits at $4.57. Pretty soon truckers will pull over and then this country will be in a bigger mess, with no food on the shelves. Do we really realize how much the trucker does for us? I think not.
There is much to tell about this ministry, that can't be said in one or two paragraphs, so this blog will be an on-going, week by week talk on the blog. I will be teaching JP how to do his on posts, and you will be hearing more from him, then I, his wife Louise.
One of the things this ministry does is, we put out lots of bibles, tapes, tracts and since last July CD's. We have mostly put out the testimony of Tom Papania "Mafia to Ministry" an awesome testimony about how he got out of the mafia, and is now ministering around in prisons.
Well, I will cut this part of the blog short and let JP get his words in about the ministry that God gave him.............stay tuned.
